A Medical Assistant is a professional multi-skilled person who assists a physician. This person performs duties under the direction of a physician in all areas of medical practice. Patient care management includes preparing treatment and examination rooms, taking vital signs, possible assisting in minor surgical procedures, giving injections, assisting in laboratory operations, taking X-Rays, and electrocardiograms.
